Introduction
Prominently known as the Garden City of India, Bangalore is the capital
of the southern Indian state of Karnataka, and was founded by Kempe
Gowda in 1537 AD. Bangalore offers numerous tourist destinations including
historic monuments, picturesque gardens, parks and several temples.
Bangalore is also famous for various traditional handicraft items like
silk saris, jewellery and carved sandalwood items. This is now the fifth
largest city of India with highly developed IT industries, and is therefore,
called the Silicon Valley of India. Recently, the its name has been
changed to Bengaluru.
